3 Years of Postponement for the Workplaces that are subject to Occupational Safety

Law No. 7033  “Law on the Amendment of Certain Laws and Decrees for Promotion of the Industry and Production Support”  is published in the Official Gazette No. 30111 and entered into force in July 1, 2017 with a postponement of 3 years from 2017 to 2020 for procurement of occupational safety specialist services and workplace physician services in establishments with less than 50 employees operating in low-risk class and public institutions.

The postponed article related to occupational health and safety of this Law is published in the Official Gazette as follows;

“In workplaces operating in low-risk class with less than 50 employees; occupational health and safety services (except entry to work, periodic examinations and medical examinations) may be conducted by employers or employer representatives (provided that they are ocuupational health and safety certified). Workplaces operating in low-risk class with less than 50 employees may also receive services from family physicians and public health service providers (instead of occupational physicians). The provisions “occupational health and safety services” and “support for occupational health and safety services” of the Law on Occupational Health and Safety No. 6331, shall enter into force on 1 July 2020 instead of 1 July 2017.
