Amendments in the Regulation of Oral and Dental Health

Some important changes made on 23 December 2016 in Oral and Dental Health Regulation dated 3/2/2015 are as follows:

Through the clauses annexed to the Article 6, more than one dentist may work in the same place, provided that a separate examination room is available for each dentist. In this case, separate licenses will be issued for each dentist. In addition, doctors will be able to perform in the same place as the dentists, provided that they meet the requirements stipulated in the regulations they are bound and that there is a separate examination room. In this case, separate licenses will be required for dentists and doctors according to their own legislation.

According to the amendment made in Article 4, doctors may also be involved in the opening of the Type A Oral and Dental Health Center. Type A Oral and Dental Health Center may be opened by a dentist/expert and doctor’s partnership, who have the right and the authority to exercise their profession freely or by legal entities with a minimum of 51 per cent dentist/expert and doctor partnership.

According to the amendment made in Article 7, if there is only one dentist in the clinics due to death or other reasons and an another partner dentist can not be found in 3 months, the clinic will be closed or converted to a medical consulting center.
